Labour Day

We had a lovely Labour Day here in DC. It helps us remember why we love living in the city so much! On Saturday we decided to go for a bike ride and semi looked at a map to see what trails were around. We ended up heading over to Georgetown and then all along a trail to Bethesda, MA! It was the most gorgeous day- probably mid 80's and lots of sunshine. We stopped in MA for some coffee and then biked back home. Then Sunday the National Symphony Orchestra performed a free concert on the West Lawn of the Capitol.

Then on Monday, the Kennedy Center was having the "Page to Stage" Festival where lots of local artists and troupes were performing works that were still "in the works," if you will. We saw Taffety Punk begin work on a play about Japanese suicide chat rooms. It was obscure but very interested to see how the play actually gets put together. Next we saw iMusical, an improvisational musical which was hi-larious. Emily will appreciate that the following quote was included "Toe Pick!"
David on the deck of the Kennedy Center. And below, a view from the Kennedy Center. Thompson Boat House is down below and you can see the National Cathedral in the background.
