I've been taking improv classes since November at "The Improv" in Dupont Circle. After taking 2 classes, you can put your name in a hat to perform with the DC Improv Comedy School Cast. They perform about once a month.
I got called up for March 31, 2010. I consider this my first "real" show for 3 reasons:
- People have to pay for tickets to get in.
- The show is at night.
- People are served food and drinks during the show.
I have performed once before (and will again at the end of April) but these performances do not satisfy any of the above three requirements.
I had about 20 friends show up to watch and had a blast. There was a lot of energy from everyone in the show. Unfortunately, no cameras were allowed so there is no evidence of the performance. I look forward to doing some more shows...hopefully soon!
