On Tuesday, March 29th, we walked down to the Tidal Basin to see the beautiful Cherry Blossoms. It was Day 1 of the peak bloom days and the trees were gorgeous! However, it was a bit chilly that evening! Snow was even predicted the following morning! Edie's room is decorated with cherry blossoms and pictures we took when we were down there last year. We knew we were having a little one last year so it was very special to be able to bring her down this year to see the trees! Caroline grew up in Macon, GA, the Cherry Blossom Capital of the World (true fact!) and so this time of year is very special for her!
Edie had just woken up from an evening nap and was a little on the somber side for her pictures :) However, she enjoyed the trees and had lots of fans stop by to comment on how cute she was. She is wearing a hand-smocked/made dress that Caroline's mom made for her!! The hand-knit blanket was a gift from her Great Aunt Michelle and the cute bonnet was a gift from our friend Justine.
This past Sunday, Caroline and Edie went down to the Washington Monument to see some of the kite festival. While Edie napped through most of it, Baxter had a *fantastic* time and was quite the hit among all the tourists. We are sorry to say that Edie will likely be upstaged by her Man-Bear-Dog who tends to endlessly charm passer-bys.

I had a hunch you had updated your blog for some reason so I was really happy to be right. :)
What a cheeky monkey! I wish we could get the girls together. Your mom is very talented--what a gorgeous gown! We miss you all and your man-bear-dog too.
