There are times that we LOVE living in Washington, DC. Last Friday was definitely one of those times! Edie & I took the bus down to Georgetown. It was a *gorgeous* day and we sat by the water for a while and watched the boats and helicopters (I'm teaching her that Uncle Alex flies helicopters).
Then, we walked over to the Swedish Embassy to join up with a group of Moms & Babies we've been hanging out with. We learned that Sweden has a children's ombudsperson whose sole job is to ensure the welfare of children in the country. Apparently this person decided that babies are bombarded with lots of sounds, colors, textures, etc. and it can be very overwhelming. They created an exhibit for babies from zero to one that is all white and is intended as a place for the baby to just enjoy hanging out with their caregivers.
Edie loved it! She especially liked the mirrored floors and the water. One of the other moms took some great pictures. I can't embed them here but you should be able to see them through this link.
